This week's Global Podium for the best sportspeople in the world features Ronnie O'Sullivan, Jessica McCaskill and Nico Müller.
Ronnie O'Sullivan
Gold: Ronnie O’Sullivan

Ronnie won his sixth Snooker World Championship ,putting him tied second in the all-time list, and first in all-time ranking events won, with 37. It is not only about the benchmarks but the way he won: he started off by beating Thepchaiya Un-Nooh (THA) 10-1 in a record time of 108 minutes and in the final he beat Kyren Wilson (ENG) 18-8, the biggest margin in a final since his 2008 victory. The 44 year-old won his 20th Triple Crown title.

Silver: Joshua Cheptegei 
(Uganda, Athletics)

Joshua Cheptegei (UGA) broke the 5,000 meter World Record by taking the gold medal at the Wanda Diamond League.


Bronze: Jessica McCaskill 
(United States of America, Boxing)

McCaskill went against the odds and beat Cecilia Breakhus (NOR) on a Majority decision to win the Undisputed Female Welterweight title, with a total unification of the WBA, WBO, WBC, IBF, IBO and The Ring World Titles. She also currently holds the WBA and WBC Super Lightweight titles. By winning, she frustrated Braekhus’ attempt to break Joe Louis’ record of 26 World title defenses. The fight was close but McCaskill was more active.
