Martin Macik (CZE) won the last Truck Stage at the Dakar Rally 2021, held in Saudi Arabia. Today he beat the Kamaz trucks of Shibalov (RUS) and Sotnikov (RUS) but overall the Russians dominated.

Dmitry Sotnikov, Ruslan Akhmadeev and Ilghiz Akhmetzianov (RUS) won five stages in this Rally and just once they were not in the top 3. With this triumph they keep on extending the Kamaz legacy as the most successful truck brand in Dakar history.

Second place were Anton Shibalov, Dmitrii Nikitin and Ivan Tatarinov (RUS) -also in a Kamaz- and teammates Airat Mardeev, Dmitriy Svistunov and Akhmet Galiautdinov (RUS) finalized the Russian 1-2-3.

Macik’s team was fourth, ahead of another Czech team, the one of Ales Loprais (Praga), who finished ahead of Vishneuski (BLR, MAS) and Karginov (Kamaz).

Teruhito Sugawara (JAP), won for a 14th consecutive time in the category for trucks with engines under 10 liters. He shared had same co-driver and mechanic as last year: Hirokazu Sommiya and Yuji Mochuzuki (JAP). They were 12th overall.

The Spaniards with most Dakar participations, Jordi Juvanteny (29) ad José Luis Criado (30), won the Production category in their MAN and won for a third straight time in the six-wheel category. They were 15th overall.
