In theory it should have not been that difficult for Bayern München.

It should have not been this way for Bayern München. In theory they should have not been eliminated from the German Cup by a 2.Bundesliga team…But it happened. Kiel eliminated them in a big surprise with a full Bayern squad.

The Bavarian team scored first, with a goal by Serge Gnabry (DEU) at 14′ but KSV Holstein tied at 37′ with a goal by Fin Bartels (DEU).

Then again Bayern took an early advantage in the second half with another goal, this time by Leroy Sané (DEU) at 47′.

When Bayern looked set to qualify to the third round, Captian Hauke Wahl (DEU) appeared in the fifth and final minute of compensation time, to score it with the shoulder and send the game to the extra time.

The extra times did not see a goal and the match would go to extra time!

Lewandowski (POL) scored the first Bayern. Wahl equalized. Kimmich (DEU) scored an unstoppable. Ahmet Arslan (DEU) tied. Thomas Müller (DEU) scored it well to the left side. Kiel tied again. Alaba (AUT) would also not miss. Lee (KOR) would tie for the 4-4.

Douglas Costa (BRA) missed as well. Niklas Hauptmann (DEU) tied. Sudden death. Marc Roca (ESP) missed! ¡And Bartels scored it!

A second-tier eliminated Bayern! Another Cup surprise in this young year!
