Week Preview

The PGA Championship, a Major, takes place this week with the notable absence of Champion Phil Mickelson (USA).

The UEFA Women’s Champions League Final will pit Barcelona (ESP) and Lyon (FRA) at the Juventus Stadium in Turin. This week will also see the conclusion of several leagues, including the Serie A -where both teams from Milan can still win-, La Liga -where Real Madrid (ESP) was clinched the title-, the Premier League -where Manchester City and Liverpool can still win-, and the Ligue 1, where the PSG was clearly clinched the title.

There will be a lot of motorsports action, including the F1 Spanish Grand Prix, the World Rally Championship in Portugal, the Monster Jam World Finals, NASCAR, DTM, World Superbikes, Hard Enduro, and more.

The Giro d’Italia goes into its second week in Italy, while the women’s tour has the Vuelta a Burgos Féminas.

Muay Thai will have a couple of World Title fights in ONE, notably the Featherweight Championship fight between superstar Petchmorakot Petchyindee (THA) and five-times-World Champion Jimmy Vienot (FRA), as well as the Strawweight Championship fight between Prajanchai P.K.Saenchai (THA) and Joseph Lasiri (ITA).

In Tennis, the Roland Garros (FRA) hosts its first week of play.

PBR (Bull Riding) will end its first World Finals.

The Men’s Ice Hockey World Championship continue in Finland, while the NHL continues its Playoffs.

The Longines Global Champions Tour and Global Champions League arrive to St. Tropez, in the French coast. France will also have its big Jump Racing week, including the Grand Steele-Chase de Paris. Another big racing event is the Preakness Stakes, second stage of the US Triple Crown, albeit without the Kentucky Derby Winner, Rich Strike (USA), who will rest for Belmont.

The Sumo Grand Tournament concludes in Japan.

Other World Championship events this week are those in Women’s Amateur Boxing, Jet Boat Powerboating, Pétanque, and in some Sailing categories.
