Truex Jr (USA) and Hamlin (USA) commanded mid-race to competition yellow but eventually ran into trouble and were relegated, particularly Truex Jr, who had a spin.
Ryan Blaney (USA) and Chase Elliott (USA) were battling one on one in the last couple of laps. Blaney was first but Elliott sidestepped him and touched him on the back chicane and sent him to the wall.
The two lost time in that incident and Kyle Busch passed them in the last corner to take first place, in front of a Chase Elliott who arrived with the car hurt.
