This week's Global Podium for the best sportspeople in the world features Takuma Miyazono, Francesco Friedrich & Alexander Schüller, and Martins Dukurs.

Gold: Takuma Miyazono
(Japan, Simracing)

Takuma Miyazono became the first simracer to ever win the FIA Gran Turismo World Final on its three competitions: the GR Supra GT Cup, the Nations Cup and the Manufacturers Cup. He also won the Nations Cup last year. With this, he won all FIA-certified coompetitions he took part of this year, as he previously won the Sydney World Tour and the Nations Cup Asia-Oceania Regional Final 2020.

Silver: Francesco Friedrich / Alexander Schüller
(Germany, Bobsled)

Friedrich tied countryman André Lange (DEU) as the winningest Bobsled World Cup competitor, by earning his 43rd and 44rd gold medals at the World Cup in Innsbruck, Austria. Schueller is also impressive. He has now won 8 gold medals in nine 2-man World Cup starts (he was silver in the other one) and has won every World Cup he has raced this season. Friedrich has 7/8. They broke the Innsbruck track record en route to their first win and they won by .78 seconds in the second one, a large margin.

Bronze: Martins Dukurs
(Latvia, Luge)

Martins remains undefeated at the BMW IBSF World Cup, winning his fourth Skeleton World Cup race out of four in this season. He won his second consecutive race in Innsbruck, Austria. This was Dukur’s 58th Skeleton World Cup win, #1 of all-time.
