France and Sweden reached the semi-final of the World Handball Championship undefeated, although Sweden had two draws in the second round. France was perhaps the slight favorite but ended up falling.

It was a good match. Sweden won the first half 13-16 and also had the advantage throughout the second half.

In the second half Adrien Dipanda (FRA) was sent off for slapping a face while France trailed 24-27, leaving them with one man less for two minutes, although it did not end up having a serious impact on the scoreboard.

Sweden defended well and held the lead until winning 26-32. Now they await the winner of the match between Denmark and Spain
