Patrick Cantlay had a great last round but Si Woo Kim won in California.

The Sportspedia

Patrick Cantlay (USA) came close to being out of the cut a couple of days ago on the American Express but yesterday he had a round of 65 and today one of 61 that had him fighting for victory literally hours after completing his round.

His round of -11 brought him to -22, just waiting to see if someone could catch him. Si Woo Kim (KOR) tied the lead with two holes to play. Cantlay remained focused on the practice field, facing a possible playoff.

But at 17, Kim scored a birdie for the solo lead. At 18 he took his time and made the Championship birdie. Cantlay did not win but rose to 2nd in the PGA rankings.

Tony Finau (USA) was in the same group as Kim but again did not win. He was 4th, behind Cameron Davis (AUS), who had a great finish.

Another player who managed to have a great day was Mexican Abraham Ancer, who shot 6-under today to accumulate 15-under. He finished in fifth place thanks to this round, tied with Michael Thompson (USA) and Doug Ghim (USA).
