With only two hits allowed, Hermosillo's pitching was almost perfect.

The Sportspedia

A great pitching by the Naranjeros de Hermosillo gave them a 1-0 victory in a close duel against the Tomateros de Hermosillo.

With this triumph they get up 3-1 in the Mexican Pacific League, one game away from being crowned Champions.

Hermosillo’s dominance of pitching was such that no Tomatero got into scoring position and they didn’t walk a single. Between José Samayoa (MEX), Robinson Leyer (DOM) and Fernando Salas (MEX) they only allowed two hits. They also got 15 outs in a row from the fifth to the ninth inning.

It took until the sixth inning to open the scoring, after a cannonball from Isaac Paredes (MEX), who drove in the first run with a double.

Manny Barreda (MEX) took the loss for Culiacán although he also gave a good game overall, but Hermosillo’s pitching was almost perfect.

Great job from the pitching coach, Elmer Dessens (MEX).
