Highlights of the day:

Leicester 0-2 Everton

Just in the second minute Leicester was already generating good chances including a play that ended in a shot right outside the goal.

But Richarlison (BRA) scored at the 21′ by outpacing a defender and shooting from outside of the box as at least five Leicester players saw the ball pass by. Soon after, Vardy missed a chance.

The second was scored by Holgate (ENG) at 72′. He took advantage of a ball bouncing off the crossbar to volley it with his left foot. Nothing can be held against keeper Schmeichel (ENG) on that one. He was able to stop two shots from a corner and it took a third immediately after for the ball to go in.

Leicester saw the chance to get closer when they were awarded a penalty but it was overturned, deeming Gomes had rightly won the ball from Perez.

Ancelotti’s team defended their three points very well in the second half.

Arsenal 1-1 Southampton

Theo Walcott (ENG) gave Southampton the advantage with a goal where he made it seem as if he had no one marking him and tipped it over the keeper.

Such advantage gave Southampton the interim first place on the table while Everton were beating Leicester 1-0 and both Tottenham and Liverpool were yet to play. Of course, that would change a couple of hours later.

Pierre-Emerick Emiliano François Aubameyang (GAB) ended his goal drought with a goal at 52′ after Saka made a good play.

But Arsenal wasted their chances when Gabriel was sent off and they settled for a 1-1 which gives Arsenal a small breathing room although they are still well behind: 15th.

Liverpool 2-1 Tottenham
